One year old...

We are in awe of the funny, charming, and clever little girl Lauren is growing up to be. It's pretty incredible to look back at one year ago...hard to believe she was ever this small, and hard to remember what life was like before she came along and totally redefined happiness for us.

Birthday Cake

Lauren had 3 birthday cakes: angel food cake with berries and whipped cream (twice) and a cake for the Madar family bee-day party, which was themed around Mr. Bee, her Bee-FF. Mr. Bee is a french bee toy that Meme brought back from France last year, and he has become Lauren's most faithful companion. Naturally, we decided to create a Mr. Bee themed bee-day cake. Here's a pic of the original Mr. Bee and Mummy's attempt at recreating him in cake form. Special thanks to both grandmothers - Meme for bringing Mr. Bee into Lauren's life, and Grandma for her advice and cake decorating expertise.

Happy First Birthday, Lauren!

Lauren had a fabulous first birthday! We called it the Week of Visiting Dignitaries - all of Lauren's grandparents came down to visit and we celebrated no fewer than 3 times! Thanks to everyone for such fun, and for helping to create such lovely and love-filled birthday memories. We think the pictures say it all...
