Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Just in the nick of time, Mommy's passport came in and Daddy's NASA report was finished...so we packed up the car and headed north for Canadian Thanksgiving! Despite our tremendous fears, Lauren was an amazing baby the whole way up...she slept, played, zoned out, and ate her way through the district, 3 states, and one province. First stop: Grandpa Dan's! Although we didn't get in a very big visit - and we missed Meme entirely, as she's off being an adventurer - it was a very sweet time together, and we can't wait to see both grandparents for Thanksgiving #2 in November! Then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's place. Over the course of the weekend, we visited with the Bradys, Auntie Myrna, the Forbes-Allen family (including mega-baby Wilder - so cute!), Auntie Joan, the Stewarts, Auntie Darlene and Kristy, and Uncle John and Gwen - and we talked on the phone with Auntie Carol and the Soo Hemsworths (including Avery, who told us a hilarious story about how Nan spilled her wine and now Avery was "covered in booze" - tea came out of my nose, I laughed so hard). We also spent lots of time playing with Jason, Alex, Hailey, and Grandma and Grandpa, and enjoyed some delicious home baking and one yummy turkey! Oh, and BRRRRRR....it was very cold!

Lauren's first bites

Here's a little video we took of Lauren's reaction to her first spoonfuls of cereal.

New flavors

She's growing up so fast! Lauren is now 6 months old - 18 pounds, 27 inches long, and in the 96th percentile for head circumference!! This past weekend, she got her first taste of food, and also her first few sips of water. She loves cereal (though it does not love her yet) and is still deciding what she thinks about water. It's adorable!

The Rhythm Section

Hee hee...Lauren and Daddy were having some musical time on the weekend. Uncle Stef, this one's for you - watch Lauren's foot bongo skills.

A family brunch

Last weekend, Andrew and Tamara hosted a delicious brunch! Gordon, a very close and longtime family friend, was in town from California, and it was awesome to see him again. We had a great time together, and Lauren loved looking inquisitively at Gordon's beard.

Lauren has entered an adorable phase where she giggles uncontrollably at random things. Last weekend it was Daddy holding the football and saying "Lauren, go long!" Today it was Mummy waving her taggie blanket around. Here's a video of the classic "I'm going to eat your tummy!"
