Weekend fun

Lauren has lots of new tricks these days: throwing her pacifier over the edge of her crib at night, talking extremely loudly (see video below...I wonder which parent she takes after?!), and sucking her teeny thumb. A trick that's not so new: kicking her legs furiously. We finally caught it on video...here it is (naked baby alert!).

Go Redskins!

Daddy had to buy Lauren this Redskins outfit. She wore it last night - and they won!

Oh, does she have stories to tell

Lauren's current likes include her Exersaucer and talking really loudly. This video clip includes both.

L-L-L-Lauren and the Jets!

How cute is Lauren in her sunglasses?

Assorted fun times

Couldn't really categorize these next pics...just some assorted family fun! Lauren's Aunt Heather and Uncle Jay came to town for a visit, and had lots of fun with the Little Miss (also, check out the hilarious old Hallowe'en costumes). Plus, check out the cucumbers James grew in our garden (and they even taste good, despite being watered with DC water!). These pics also display Lauren's latest faves: sucking Daddy's thumb, sucking her own hand, "flying" on Mommy's knees, and her exersaucer. She is also warming up to tummy time!

New Toys!

Lauren is ready to be on the move! She gets bored really easily (wonder where that came from?), and really prefers to be sitting up (with a little help, of course) or kicking her legs. Her Grandmother bought her a doorway jumper, and Grandma bought her a Bumbo, so she's loving her new views of the world.

Apollo 40th Anniversary

James scored us an invite to a party at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum celebrating the 40th anniversary of the moon landing. It was pretty incredible being in the presence of the Apollo astronauts, scientists, and planners, and I must admit to tearing up a bit when Neil Armstrong took the stage.

Such a big girl!

Sorry it's been a while...we've had a fun but crazy few weeks! Lauren's Grandmother arrived in early July and stayed for a month. They shared lots of special times - lots of book reading and songs and being carried around! Our big girl is talking up a storm these days (and, of course, I interpret all the "ahhh" and sighing to mean "Mommy is the best"), and she's getting very active. Here are a few pics from early July, including Lauren with the taggie blanket Aunt Jenny made just for her, and with her boyfriend, the chandelier (you should see her flirt with it!).
